MARCH
We went to the aquarium with cousins
Soren was in the school play Dear Edwina. He practiced A LOT. He did a great job and had a couple singing parts and a few lines. We loved watching him on stage.
We went to Havasupai Falls!!!
It was incredible. We got some last minute permits and drove down 9 hours to stay overnight and then drove an hour the next morning to get to the trailhead. We dropped off all our gear for the mule to carry for us and then started the 10 mile hike.
The kids are just waiting to start the hike looking out over the beautiful scenery.
About to start our descent!
Snack break
We all had too much stuff in our packs the way down and took about 100 breaks, but evenutally we made it.
Supai Falls
We made camp and the next day went to Mooney Falls. We had to hike down the side of the cliff on chains. It was a little terrifying. The steps were slippery from the waterfall spary.
What we hiked down to get to Mooney Falls
Beautiful Mooney Falls. Everyone but me jumped in and swam. It was freezing.
See the Mountain Goat in the background.
After getting to Mooney Falls we hiked another 4 miles to Beaver Falls. There are so many incredible water falls along the trail. The water was such an amazing color.
The only Palm Tree in the whole area.
The bottom of Supai Falls
The hike out was freezing. It was shady the first 8 miles.
We made it. The last 1 1/2 miles was very steep switch backs and pretty exhausting, but we all made it.
Those water shoes gave me some good blisters
Soren accidentally gave Scarlett a black eye with one of the trekking poles.
On the drive home we stopped and briefly visited Hoover Dam. Straight drop down right over that ledge.
St Patrick's Day craziness
Jet turned 9!!
Piper's field trip to Tracy Aviary, where it rained the whole time.
Soren finally received his actual black belt. What an accomplishment.
Just me and Ivy
Harvesting carrots from our garden last year.
Planting our new garden
Soren received his arrow of light.
Soren made it into the top 15 and can now go to the District Spelling Bee
Went to a Bird Refuge in Farmington with the girls. Saw lots of birds.
